Staying at namba oriental was fantastic! The location is perfect, right near the main shopping area with tons of food options. I loved having sheltered access to the metro and rail stations, super helpful in the rain. The room was surprisingly spacious, and it secure hotel and discreet. Plus, the smartphone in the room made navigating the city easier!

The hotel is well positioned if you want to enjoy the busy night life in Osaka, in the "young" part of the city. This means that it's close to Dotombori and Shinshaibashi, where youngsters gather to go out at evening and night.
The staff has trouble speaking english and also do not smile that much. The breakfast menu does not have many options and the recipe for the omelet was one of the worst I have ever tasted. The elevator from the street to the reception lobby smells of cigarette smoke like no place on earth.

Conveniently located near one of the train stations (but not easy to find so be sure to bring a map). In spite of being in the middle of a busy shopping and night-life district the rooms were quiet (even those overlooking the street). Double room was the most spacious I found during my trip in Japan. Buffet breakfast (Japanese and Western) is also reasonably priced compared to other hotels.
